Great spot with a large variety of Ipswich Brews. The food is hit or miss. They have a wide range of items on the menu. The wings are great just need a little extra sauce for flavor. The chowder lacked flavor and was mostly potatoes. The tuna tartare was spot on with a ton of flavor. Save room for a sweet treat or 2! Just an fyi be prepared for loud live music after hours. Keep up the great work Ipswich Brewery and Brewers Table!

Not sure what happened to the menu but it has cut way back. No more wings, short rib nachos, lobster bacon sandwich and several other items dicontiuned. Waitress told us it was do to lack of help when college kids went back to school. To bad liked the old menu better.

I expected a good selection of beers, but I was pleasantly surprised by the well-appointed space and excellent food. The cheddar and ale soup and the patty melt were as good as comfort food gets. They are definitely doing it right here.

Good brew-pub! Great beer, good food and friendly, knowledgable staff. Keep in mind that it does not have the feel of a small tap-room (i.e., it does not feel like a place to hang out and play games).

The food is surprisingly good for "pub" food with healthy offerings along with tradition fare. The menu is limited but I have sampled almost every offering (but the pizza) and find the ingredients fresh and the food well-prepared. The beer changes seasonally and and a terrific sangria is available if you are not a fan of beer. Servers are courteous and attentive. The interior is welcoming and comfortable. I recommend giving it a try.

Love this place! Their food is amazing with a wide variety of options, yet it's a single sheet menu. Korean BBQ Beef, Bratwurst plate and Cheddar Ale soup to New England traditions like fried scallops, a twist on a lobster BLT (with gouda) and fish and chips. I love their beers too like the 1620 IPA, Route 101 IPA, and a great Oatmeal stout. Great laid back atmosphere and huge bar!

Such a great facility! Hop vines growing, modern industrial look, with an awesome menu in the brewpub. Beer is delicious, with plenty of variety but obviously an emphasis on hoppy beers. Been drinking their beer for a while so it’s nice to finally stop by a brick and mortar location.

Food and drink were both very good, the mango BBQ was great. Can be a little loud, most of the tables are all fairly close to the bar. Not a big, fancy place but worth the visit!

Visited as a party of three adults and one child on a Sunday at noon time. The place had almost as man kids as adults when we walked in. Which is why we were a bit surprised they offered no high chairs or booster seats. We read a note on the menu that reminded parents to keep their children seated - which is fine. But the menu note was a bit ironic considering they gave you no assistance in keeping your child safely seated...Try keeping a 18 month old seated in a traditional chair for an hour! It's not easy.We waited about 10 minutes for a server once we were seated. Not overly long wait, but not fast either. The beer selection was wide ranging and good - only except that the staff didn't drink beer (I assume because they are not of age) and were not able to answer any questions about the beer menu. The food was fairly priced and as expected. We got burgers and their fried chicken sandwich - All pretty good!

Great selection of beers and wide variety of food options! Service was okay; we were sat by the hostess and weren’t greeted by a server for 10+ minutes. They were good after, not great.

Had a party here for approximately 20-25 people. Myles and his crew were amazing! Not only did they keep the good beers flowing and the amazing food coming out. The egg rolls, empanadas, wings, and pizza were a hit. The private room was great to have a space all to ourselves and a tv to keep the kids entertained! Will definitely be back and would reccomend them for any party or group dinner!

One of the few experiences that I wish Google would allow a six star review. The tour was amazing, you will not beat it for the price. John and Roy were great, and the beer is exceptional. Don't just stop, take the tour!

A must-stop for beer geeks, and great for non-drinkers too. Kid friendly , although there is no children's menu. The beer is outstanding. An inviting industrial charm to the atmosphere. Friendly service. The menu has offerings such as wild boar Bolognese, bratwurst, burgers, lemon-caper chicken, soups, salads , and much more. High quality fare, not your typical pub food preparation. Live music on weekends. Great view of the production floor and bottling line.

Thanksgiving egg rolls with cranberry dipping sauce are delicious, mostly stuffing with a bit of turkey and a bit of yam. They were out of the poutine and the mango meatloaf on one visit, which was crushing. The beer selection looks good. No mixed drinks. They have unsweetened iced tea and were attentive with my friend’s refills. They carry local boutique soda. Friendly staff. We ended up with the steak and the patty melt. On another trip, I tried the meatball sammich and my friend tried the Reuben. Both were solid, nothing to write home about but a good stop on a road trip around Boston. You can get fries or greens with a sammich, and the greens are a nice mixed green like, just greens not a full salad. The space is comfortable. They have a separate room in the back where one good have events.

Yesterday was the first time we came to that restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the efficient service, with the great cuisine and wine and with the friendly price. We will no doubt return there again.

I have come here four times now and I really enjoy this place. Wonderful American food and terrific beer selection all at a great price. Summer months are especially nice as outside sitting is quite enjoyable but just about anytime you're in this area just stop by for a very good meal and some great brews. Ipswich Ale doesn't carry the cache that so many other smaller beers have but they offer very nice brews and consistency. As for the eats, I warn you that the portions are massive so it may be best to go with a couple of appetizers and a single large meal. Get ready for a great time and some great eats.

Visited twice while in the area. Ample seating at the bar as well as tables, with windows looking into the brewery. There are several house flights or you can create your own. Multiple beer selections available.I sampled both the pilsner and the espresso stout. Both were very enjoyable. The stout was not as heavy-bodied as most, which i consider a plus.First time in, I had the bratwurst plate, very good. Second visit, the italian fish stew and it was excellent.I would recommend this place to anyone visiting in the area.

We had a last minute family event here, and the management team and staff were extremely accommodating. The food was delicious (my fav, the yummy pickle wings), and so many varieties of beer! I would highly recommend this restaurant for group events or for a great spot to hang -- the outside patio is awesome. Erin was amazing in pulling this together in such a short time period, making my life so much easier. The back room was perfect for our small party. So friendly. So nice. THANK YOU so much!

This was the first stop on our way to Portsmouth for our beer tour weekend. I was really impressed with their food selection. Lots of unique and staple options. The beet flight presentation was awesome. Wr both liked our flights with the exception of the cranberry beer. The details of this restaurant were amazing especially the door handles at the entrance. There was an ad on the wall that's breakfast for dinner one night which I would like to go to!

Great little pub that they put in. Their beer offering is great of course, they have special beers that come out weekly. The food menu was a good mix of everything. It had good selections that covered vegetarians well. Live music thursday and Friday night which got a little loud but not overwhelming. Good place to check out at the end of a dead end road!!!

Awesome beer food and staff ... I would have given 5 Stars but I think it's time to invest in some more comfortable seating and functional bar stools.could be a 5 star place. LBGT Lobster sandwich was delicious as were all the appetizers. We waited for a booth and glad we did only comfortable seating in the house.

Great selection of beers (of course!) Food was good, had the poutine for an app then bratwurst dinner, lemon chicken & bolognese pasta. Large portions; took home quite a bit. I would like if a different pasta on the bolognese was available (they use egg noodles, which made an already heavy dish even heavier). Also got the Brewers Pizza, which should be called Brewers Flatbread. Save room for dessert! Lemon mousse was excellent!

I love a soft spot for local breweries especially ones that serve food. Ipswich Ale is a great combination of the two. Food was excellent and the beer was better. Get a beer flight or two and the selection of sodas made on sight is awesome for the kids.

This place does a great job if you want good pub food and plenty of fresh beer choices. I heard previously that the food wasn't very good, but I've eaten here several times and everything has been great. The pickle wings are very tasty, and the sweet relish dip they serve with them is a perfect contrast to the mild pickle flavor in the batter. I also like the sausage plate entree - plenty of good sauerkraut and sausages cooked just right, perfect with a pilsner. It's not an extensive menu, but good, simple pub food and great fresh beer. UPDATE: the pickle wings are no longer on the menu, and the current wings offered are NOT at all crispy and not very flavorful - just lost a star.

I honestly wish I could give more stars but the max is 5. We did not plan going to Ipswich AT ALL. We were in Salem and came across a restaurant called the Village Tavern where they had the Cranberry Beret from Ipswich Ale. My hubby is very picky when it comes to his ales, lagers etc. I honestly don't know the difference. This Ale was so delicious I even enjoyed it and I'm not a big beer person. So we drove 30 mins north just to go see the brewery and were not disappointed. The restaurant was excellent I got to try one of there wines, and Michael got to try one of their flights. We even got there in time to go on the tour! I was shocked we were the only ones on the tour. We've gone on brewery tours before but this one has got to be MY FAVORITE. Our tour guide Nate was very knowledgeable and easy going, it was definitely not like any other tour we had ever been on. I recommend this highly to anyone, make this trip it is so worth it! Also for the none beer drinkers they have soda also!

This place was recommended to us by a local and we were happy to check this place out on a Saturday night. We were able to sit immediately at the bar. I got the Brisket plate with collard greens, jalapeño corn bread, Mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and some sauces. Everything was really good and prepared well. The service was kind and attentive. I had the raspberry sour and was pretty good.Parking can be tight but it seemed like there was parking on the side streets as well. This is a solid place to get a meal and or share some apps and brews!

Questions & Answers

They do, 32oz cans are available to go

Sure.

Not sure they do. The restaurant sells 1 liter cans and 32 oz Growlers.

I don't think they have free wifi.

I was recently told that Newburyport brewing company bought Ipswich Ale.

They allow dogs on the patio in the summer, none inside though.

Hello Nancy! We offer beer, wine and house made "beertails". We do not have a license for hard liquor. Hope to see you soon!
